This national program involves the mobilization of law enforcement
agencies to increase impaired driving educational and enforcement
efforts during the July 4th and end-of-year holiday seasons.
Nearly 50 Maine law enforcement agencies have joined this program
for 2002 and are concentrating their efforts specifically toward
reducing underage drinking and driving.
The Maine Chiefs of Police Association has assumed a leadership
role in coordinating the activities of law enforcement agencies
throughout Maine with the national program, all with the goal of
reducing deaths and injuries caused by impaired drivers, particular
those who are underage.
For more information about the Maine approach view our Safety Topic
on Underage Drinking and Driving.
